Logistics centre is created to serve LIDL retail business in Lithuania. The complex consists of a warehouse, administrative part, supporting buildings and fire water-reservoirs. The logistics centre can handle up to 100 cars per day with up to 180 employees in the shift. The main building is for storage. The warehouse has a rectangular shape with a length of 328,34 m and width of 122,33 m. The height of the building varies in different parts, ranging from 11,14 m in the lateral naves to 14,22 m in the middle nave. The warehouse is equipped with freezing facilities (up to -24°C), refrigerators and washing places for the containers. One of the most modern industrial refrigerating systems in Lithuania (UAB “GEA Grasso”) is installed in the building as well as a number of other technical innovations: an alternative source of electric energy that can serve the building for 48 hours without refueling and modern truck loading equipment. A lot of attention was paid to the employees’ work conditions while designing the building.
