A small but really exciting project for sure ... What is worth the experience of implementing a project in another country. The site plot is situated in the Old City of Grodno, between two streets, Vasilka and Pavlovskovo. There was the industrial mill in this plot before, which was demolished about ten years ago. Consulate general complex consist of two buildings. The main consulate general building, located by Vasilka street, has two floors with the attic. The other building, which is located by Pavlovskovo street, in the other part of the plot, has one floor with the partial attics and is designed for various representative events, such as exhibitions, leisure time events, conferences and banquets, also there is the residence of the Consul General. The multifunctional square has been designed between these two buildings. The whole area is fenced with a high brick fence due to security requirements. Old buildings of this type had a clearly exposed front pediment part. In search for a modern - looking building, we tried to combine that classical building image with Lithuanian heraldry – Pillars of Gediminas and present it in modern way. That’s is the idea of white concrete pillars in front of the building. White concrete facing is also used for whole ground floor of consulate general. The first floor and the attic has facing of grey bricks. As a counterweight to the white concrete facing, another representative building finished with gray bricks facing. 3D tour at the night time can be found here: http://hi360v.com/v-tours/ltc_street/ (all foto by Ivan Cirkunovich).
