Universal “Siemens” arena – was the first in Lithuania international level universal arena, where one of the biggest and most impressive recreational, sports and business events are held. It was opened in the autumn of 2004. The project in Lithuania was based on the conceptual design of “Brisbin Brook Beynon Architects”, changing it according to the demands of the client and the building regulations. The universal sports hall is one height. All four guest entrances are from the square that is located on the north and east sides of the arena. On the lower levels of the arena there is a main lobby, cloak rooms, fast food bars, room for club members, toilets, changing rooms for four teams, a press centre, technical, security, storage and service facilities. The main entrances to the tribunes are from this level. Depending on the usage of the hall, various transforming tribunes can be installed. On the higher levels, there are 42 private VIP boxes. There are also several VIPs for groups, used to watch events with a company of friends. The arena is designed for several functional purposes. It can be used for sport events: basketball, handball and hockey games. Moreover, the arena can be used for concerts, conferences and expositions. In various modes, the arena can hold up to 11200 people. Up to 10050 people can watch basketball games and up to 8750 people can watch hockey games due to an increased size of the rink.
